It's ok if your art looks terrible and has broken legs. Try not to stylize, focusing instead of matching proportions and pose. Start with a photo of your subject in a nice/neutral pose with all four feet visible. Link back to original photos, and don't post copied artwork unless the artist is dead, cool with it, or both.Īs always with learning, start every sketch with the intent to throw it away (trash for paper, quitting without saving for digital) This takes the pressure off and lets you make Bad Art, which is very important. I like to take my own photos, but you can study whatever you want. O… /i/web/status/1… 1 month agoįantastic! twitter.Everyone says NEVER TRACE!! THAT'S ART THEFT! Ok but we can do a little crime in the name of Learning. The project cannot be taken away from those S1 pupils who helped make it though, they picked through the traditional text of the Scottish poem, storyboarding each line and creating characters and scenes, they created simple wire joint for movement and most had the chance to puppet, film and direct too. Some S4,5 & 6 pupils also lent a hand to make sure that the deadline was met, along with amazing narration read by Mr Shirreffs from the English Department and my editing skills, it was a huge group effort. Saying that, the pupils have created a mini masterpiece and I am very happy with the outcome. It was an extremely tough project to run with S1 classes as group work and individual drive is very important. chantelle m doodle book drawings dynamic girl heart home love pencil sketch workįor over two months now, my three S1 classes (aged 11-12) have been working on this shadow puppet film for the Robert Burns’ event that is to be held in Our Lady & St Patrick’s High School at the end of the month. Thanks to Chantelle for sharing her work with us, it has really made me think and that’s what good art should do. The doodle page is as important to us as the hand print on a rock wall was to our ancestors. These pages could easily be modern ads for communication services, an internet service, a phone or a social network. ![]() These are things that embed themselves in us from an early age and it is interesting in seeing them re-invented over by new generations. There are very interesting subjects here in Chantelle’s book, re-interpretations of the heart symbol, ideas of perfection or happiness, dynamic drawings and sweeps that are the foundation of good drawing for design. I really enjoy having a glimpse into what interests pupils at home, what drives them to create when they’re not forced to by school, parents or other means. Saying that, it’s something that I did do too and still do (yes, even teachers ‘never learn’), it just depends on what you what from your sketches in the future. It’s so annoying when you revisit the drawings after time to find that they are actually quite good drawings, but they’re ruined by the lines of the notebook paper. I always get a little annoyed when I see pupils work into lined books like this as I had done when I was their age. Chantelle M (S1, OLSP) has been working in her ‘Doodle Book’ for quite some time now.
